About Us


Jim Fleigner

Jim Fleigner has been consulting since 1989, assisting companies through turnarounds and transition with a focus on media and entertainment (both traditional and digital).  As the owner and Managing Partner of Impact Consultancy LLC for the past decade, Jim has extensive experience creating the most valuable improvements at the most granular levels, with a core expertise in leveraging large data sets into actionable strategies.  Starting in 2009, Jim developed a formal practice in Big Data Strategy that he has been successfully applying to multiple top 50 newspapers in North America.

Jim developed the proprietary ICAPTR™ (which stands for “Impact Consultancy Acquisition Performance Tracking Report” and is pronounced “I-Capture”) System, which provides micro-targeted metrics to track acquisition, retention, cash flow performance for new print and digital subscribers on a monthly basis.

Jim has worked at two studios (Paramount Pictures and New Line Cinema) and was previously the CEO of Hangin' Hams Productions LLC, an award winning media content production company.  Jim began his career as a management consultant at Marakon Associates – a worldwide strategy consulting firm ranked in the Top 10 of Ivy Exec’s survey report “2015 Top Boutique Consulting Firms” -- where he worked to earn one of the highest promotion schedules in firm history.

Jim has written several papers and articles on newspaper subscriber optimization that are published by Newspaper Association of America (NAA), a trade organization representing 2,000 newspapers in North America, and International News Media Association (INMA), a trade organization representing 5,000 members in 80 countries. Jim is also a regular contributor to INMA’s Satisfying Audiences Blog.  Jim has been a speaker at major newspaper industry (NAA, INMA, NYPA) conferences and has also spoken at Stanford University and UCLA about trends in media.

Jim received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Political Science from Swarthmore College in 1989 and his MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 1995.  Jim was also accepted at HarvardWharton and Kellogg business schools, thus making him one of a very select number of people with the rare distinction of being accepted to the top four business schools in the world.

 

Chuck HastingsChuck Hastings has spent most of his career in corporate strategy and finance, including development and operational budgeting, acquisitions analysis, construction and permanent financing, and investor reporting. Chuck has worked since 1996 at Juniper Communities as Vice President of Finance & Business Development, primarily responsible for all finance-related activities of the firm. Chuck also managed multiple strategy development engagements for Fortune 500 clients at Marakon Associates, a management consulting firm specializing in helping publicly traded companies manage to enhance shareholder value. During that time, he advised such clients as American Express and Eastman Kodak.

Chuck received his Bachelor of Arts in History from Princeton University in 1988 and his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1994.

 

Janine KlimczakJanine Klimczak served for six years as Director of Practice Management & Consultant Training at Marakon Associates, a global management consulting firm specializing in helping companies develop the financial, strategic, and organizational capabilities to manage for superior customer and shareholder value.  During her tenure, she managed training programs covering all incoming strategy consultants worldwide as well as ongoing training for experienced consulting personnel. Janine advised such Fortune 500 clients as Dow Chemical, Hercules Inc. and Sterling Winthrop. More recently, she served as Chief Operating Officer at The Center for Great Expectations, a residential, counseling and substance abuse treatment service provider for pregnant, homeless women.  Since 2011, Janine has been President of Generations Home Healthcare, a privately held home care agency.

Janine received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Yale University in 1988 and her MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration in 1994.

 

John FleignerJohn Fleigner runs Impact Consultancy's ICAPTR Development & Installation practice. John is Information Systems Manager for OTG Management, an award-winning airport food & beverage operator, where he is responsible for the installation and maintenance of customer facing and back office IT systems at more than 150 restaurants in major airports nationwide. John was the founding IT employee and Supervising Manager of the Information & Technology department at Doherty Enterprises, one of the largest and most successful restaurant franchise operators in the country. John coded the company’s first integrated ERP system, employing proprietary technology on the Windows platform which became the de facto company standard for automated daily reporting of various operational and financial metrics.

John received his Bachelor of Science at State University of New York in 1997.
